On February 4-8, 2022, the mission of entrepreneurs representing the tool and processing industry from the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship took place to the World Exhibition EXPO Dubai 2020. The trip was organized by the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship, and the Bydgoszcz Industrial Cluster, which gathered over 100 industry entrepreneurs from all over the country, was responsible for the preparation and implementation of the economic program.

During the mission, participants had the opportunity to visit the Polish Pavilion, visit the entire EXPO site, participate in business seminars, as well as learn about the rules of doing business in the UAE and establish new business contacts.

On the first day, a business seminar was held during which Mr. Jakub Sławek – Polish Ambassador to the UAE, Mr. Adrian Malinowski – Commissioner of the Polish Section and Mr. Adil Abdelwahab – Manager of the PAIH foreign trade office in the UAE introduced entrepreneurs to the UAE market, the most important principles of ethics and business culture , as well as the potential and possibilities of establishing cooperation for the tool and processing industry. Presentation on the potential of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region in the above-mentioned area was presented Eng. Dariusz Sykutera (PhD) – Vice President of the Management Board of the Bydgoszcz Industrial Cluster. Entrepreneurs also had the opportunity to participate in the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Day and a dinner organized by the Marshal of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship, in which, in addition to the participants of the tool and processing industry mission, representatives of the medical and food sector missions as well as foreign guests participated.

In the following days, entrepreneurs took part in meetings in a special economic zone in Ras Al-Khaimah and in an industry seminar combined with B2B networking.

During the meeting in the economic zone, the principles of conducting business in its area were presented, as well as the benefits resulting from it, and they had the opportunity to establish business cooperation between companies from Poland and the UAE. There were also short meetings with representatives of the companies present at the meeting. At the end of the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to visit two plastics processing companies to learn about their potential and the technologies used.

On the last day of the mission, the Cluster organized an industry seminar showing the potential and impact of the tool and processing industry on the economic development of the region. The meeting was opened by Ms. Aneta Jędrzejewska – Member of the Board of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship and Eng. Dariusz Sykutera (PhD) – Vice President of the Management Board of the Bydgoszcz Industrial Cluster. Then the entrepreneurs participating in the mission had the opportunity to present their potential and cooperation opportunities. The seminar was very popular – over 20 industry companies from the UAE participated in it. At the end, there was a B2B marketplace during which individual contacts of interested companies were established.

It was another economic mission aimed at supporting entrepreneurs in their development and allowing them to expand international contacts, which is one of the strategic goals of the Bydgoszcz Industrial Cluster. It was an opportunity for business talks and the presentation of our project, the “Lightweight Made In Europe” brand. The meeting made it possible to expand contacts and search for local partners of the project.
