CLUSTER-MECH (Associazione Clust-ER Meccatronica e Motoristica)

The mechanical sector in the Emilia-Romagna region employs over 350,000 people and is the most important in terms of revenues and exports. Clust-ER MECH (Emilia-Romagna Mechatronic and Motoristic Cluster) is an association of 112 public and private bodies (start-ups, small, medium and large and companies, research centres and training institutions) that operates with the aim to share skills, ideas and resources to support the competitiveness of the sector.

Clust-Er MECH focuses its activities in 8 technical working groups (value chains):
1) Digital and Advanced Manufacturing,
2) Automation and Robotics,
3) Safe, efficient, sustainable engines and vehicles,
4) Advanced Materials for Motoristics and Mechatronics,
5) Avionics and Aerospace,
6) Nautical,
7) Fluidpower Machines,
8) Mobile Electrification Systems, a group recently launched and focused on electric mobility and on accumulation systems (batteries), for road and industrial use.

Together with the regional Technopoles and the High Technology Network laboratories, regional clusters are key players in the regional innovation ecosystem coordinated by ART-ER, the Emilia- Romagna consortium for innovation and technology transfer.
