Partner of our project Clust-ER MECH is supporting the organization of the following event dedicated to Hybrid Components. The objective of the event is to gather the latest industrial and research experiences on the need to join metallic and long fiber composite materials together in the same component, with a complete guarantee of structural strength. The event will run online on June 15, 2021 from 9 AM – 3 PM.
In addition to conventional overmolding techniques, in which metal components are simply embedded in the composite material, techniques are being developed in which the metal component has a highly complex surface – made with additive technique – which is infiltrated deep into the composite material.
The workshop is organized by the Alfred Nobel Technology Park as part of the Vanguard Initiative, and it is supported by Clust-ER MECH. It brings together the experiences of several companies and research centers (including the University of Bologna) that are developing hybrid solutions and aims to give an overview on a field that is growing very rapidly in many sectors.
